it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students and I spent this year in distance learning. Even though distance learning has been a struggle for my students in different ways, we have created amazing routines, art projects, and science experiments. At the end of February, many of my students and I will be returning to in-school learning. It will be challenging and wonderful at the same time. I am requesting these supplies to get my classroom ready for our upcoming circumstances.
We are living through history.
My students are incredible people. They come with tenacity, creativity, and a wide variety of experiences and gifts. We work hard every day as scholars, artists, critical thinkers, and friends.
My Project
As we begin to return to in-school learning, I want my students to have the tools to get out into our environment and explore. Outdoor activity and exploration will have a positive impact on my students' social-emotional and physical wellbeing.
Even though our in-school experience looks different, students still need to have the ability to move away from screens and get outside into the real world.
These binoculars and nature books will make sure all my students have access to the tools they need to explore their surroundings. Getting my students outside will improve our science studies and our physical and emotional health.
We are planning on daily nature walks around the neighborhood. With the binoculars, I've requested students will be able to identify trees, bugs, and birds in the environment near our school. We will use the nature books to correctly identify what we've found. We will record our findings in our nature notebooks. The books I've requested, like "Backpack Explorer" will give us structured activities during our walks.
I am certain that these binoculars and books will make a difference to my students and their social-emotional well-being during this particularly challenging school year. Thank you for considering this project.
