My students need reading games including a set of Zingo! Bingo Games, a complete set of Roll & Read Phonics Games, and a complete set of Sight-Word Bingo games to use weekly in reading centers and daily in small group reading instruction.
Bingo! Zingo! Winner! Remember the excitement of winning a game? In our classroom, we have a 90-minute reading block. It is easy for students to get distracted with that much time, so now it is time add some excitement while working on important skills in phonics and word work.
I have 21 second-grade students in my class.
Our building houses 16 classrooms, K-6th grade, and we are 1 of 2 second-grade classrooms. Most students are from low-income families and are on free/reduced lunch. Our student population is diverse and it is my goal to have each student reading at grade level by the end of the school year.
My Project
I am asking for a variety of reading games including a set of Zingo! Bingo Games, a complete set of Roll & Read Phonics Games, and a complete set of Sight-Word Bingo games because I plan to use these reading and phonics games weekly as small group activities during our extra 30 minute reading time. This extra time is for students to work on specific skills. In addition, these activities can be used in a whole group setting once a week to focus on sight words. The materials will also be used by small groups, weekly, during our reading centers as part of our 90-minute reading block.
School is full of standardized tests and required activities.
Learning should be fun! These activities will engage my students while learning important skills to help improve their decoding skills and reading fluency. My students need these materials to continue their journey to become better readers.
