Our Bingo for Books event provides an engaging and inclusive platform for families to come together and participate in a fun-filled evening of games and literacy-focused activities. By playing bingo, children and their families have the opportunity to win books of their choice, ranging from picture books for younger readers to novels for older students. This event not only promotes literacy but also strengthens family bonds and fosters a sense of community within our school.
According to recent studies, access to books at home significantly correlates with improved literacy rates and academic success among children.
Research conducted by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) reveals that children who have access to a variety of books at home tend to perform better in school and demonstrate higher levels of literacy than those who do not. Unfortunately, many families in our school district face economic challenges that limit their ability to provide books for their children.Having books readily available at home provides numerous benefits for children's cognitive development and academic achievement including: language development, reading comprehension, critical thinking, academic performance, and lifelong learning.
We are seeking donations to purchase a diverse selection of high-quality books suitable for children of all ages and reading levels. Your generous contribution will directly impact the lives of students in our school, providing them with access to literature that can ignite their imaginations, broaden their horizons, and empower them to achieve academic success.
