This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Teaching in a Title I school, mainly all of my students come from low income households. With that being said, I try to provide as many resources for them as I can. Being an ELA teacher we do quite a bit of writing.
I would love to be able to take their writings, and bind them into a collection for them to have.
Having these items in our writing center will help to continue to support and enhance their creativity. With the binding machine, we will bind their writings throughout the year. The turn in trays will be used to keep their papers while they are working through the process. Pens to use for writing, pencil bag to store those pens. The keyboard will be used when they are able to type their completed essay. The language book will help with small group work. The scissors will be used to cut the binding after their writings are bound.
Having these resources would be an important addition to our writing center. In middle school, we encourage all types of writing. Whether they are creating poetry, writing an essay, or creative writing, I want them to feel supported.
