My Students
My students are busy learners. The majority are learning a new language and need ways to explore English in a social and academic setting. Center time lets all my students expand their language skills in a fun, exciting way.
My enthusiastic language learners are busy striving to do their best every day.
Each brings their own spirit to learn a new language and culture to our classroom, which enriches our learning. Their range of abilities varies from newcomers to proficient learners. Our public school is in an urban environment and hosts a large diversity of cultures.
My Project
My class's love of writing has them creating beautiful written pieces that are held together with a simple staple. As we read through our published works, they often fall apart. Therefore, I am asking for a book binding machine so that we can bind our books and they can look like real published works. The binding machine will be put to good use. I can also create Academic Vocabulary Journal books to enhance their vocabulary necessary for school.
Creative cover pages help to catch a readers eye.
My students are tired of using plain white copy paper to create their cover pages. With the variety of card stock, their covers will be sturdier, and they can choose how to make their cover page POP! Can't you just see how spectacular their published books will look with flashy covers? I can't wait to see them!
