Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Hello everyone, I am a teacher in a Title I and Title 3 school in Queens, NY. I will
Be switching grades from 5th grade self contained to 2nd grade self contained this year.
Even though I only have 12 students, their needs are very important.
My students need hands on learning to explore all of the academics within the life skills and 2nd grade curriculum. My students are hardworking students like everyone else, however, they all have special accommodations to better their learning! Help my students explore learning with visuals and hands on experiences. They need to be able to use hands on interactive Velcro books to help their learnings.
My Project
Having a binding machine in my classroom will help me create individualized and specified hands on learning in the classroom. Students with autism spectrum disorder need the use of hands on Velcro learning that is individualized to meet their needs and goals. Reaching goals for students who have autism is an important part of their life and education.
I’m excited to create behavior management tools specific to their needs and wants so that the students can reach their behavior goals easier.
We need to motivate these students in every way possible. I am excited to create these individualized academic and behavior books geared towards my students needs.
