Binders help students organize their math notes, assignments, and practice problems in an orderly manner, facilitating better comprehension and retention of mathematical concepts. For students who struggle with math, attendance, focus or organizational skills, binders are more effective than notebooks because they allow students to sort and re-order their materials, building orgnizational and conceptual skills at the same time.
Many of my students aren't able to purchase supplies such as binders, so we're asking for your help to purchase a bulk set of binders for my Algebra I students.
The majority of my Algebra I students are re-taking the course after failing it the previous year. They face a variety of academic and non-academic challenges that often result in low attendance and confidence in math class.
The structure and clarity of a well-organized binder can boost students' confidence by providing them with a sense of ownership over their learning materials. This empowerment can lead to increased participation and engagement in math class. I've seen this effect in the past. With your help, I can continue to provide my students with a key tool that will help them be successful in math!
