My Students

My students come to school ready to learn and compete, but many do not have the materials they need to succeed.

The problem is our school district is high poverty.

Many students do not have the necessary supplies, resources, or support needed for success. Our school district has limited funds available to classroom teachers. DonorsChoose.org has become a staple, providing much-needed resources to ensure my students have the items needed for classroom success and beyond. Without these projects, my urban students would not have what they need to prepare for high school and college.

My Project

We are adding English labs to our course offerings to provide additional reading and writing support to our middle school students. I need to help my students keep their work organized and available for them to see growth and have a hard copy of all writing tasks to utilize as a resource for each writing activity.

My students need binders with page protectors to house their writing throughout the year.

This will allow them to see their progress from start to finish as we print, edit, print again, edit again...

My students will be able to see that writing is a journey with constant improvements, editing, and feedback. These binders and page protectors will allow them to have their writing in one location to easily reference for skill development.
