Most of my students are from low income families and they do not have a lot of school supplies.
My students are eager to learn to read and write but they do not like to spend their time completing worksheets.
My students like to practice their reading and writing as often as possible but I have found it works better if they are engaged in something a little different.
This project will engage the students and make learning more fun and engaging for them.
My Project
These supplies will be used every morning by my students. The students will practice writing their first and last names. The supplies will be used to help the students learn the days of the week and the months of the year. They will, also, learn to capitalize the days of the week and the months of the year. The card holders will be used for number cards and pictures of base ten blocks. This will help us to practice place value every morning. The card holders will store sight word cards for independent and group practice.
My class loves dry erase markers!
Most of my students do not have pencils and crayons at home, so dry erase markers are very exciting!
My students will use the dry erase markers and the supplies to practice handwriting, sentence writing, capitalization, punctuation, spelling, counting, place value, and sight word reading. All of the plastic covers and card holders will be placed in the binders for easy use and organization for the students.
These supplies will make learning more fun and engaging.
