Bilingual Students Need New Reading Materials During Distance Learning
Help me give my students new reading material during distance learning. The majority of my students are in need of books at home, making it more difficult for them to successfully continue their reading growth.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students consist of 30 English Language Learner (ELL) students. The majority of my students come from low income families who are new comers to this country from Mexico, Central, and South America.
Many of my students don't have the accessibility to connect and learn through the internet.
My students are eager and excited to learn given their prior situations. They are caring, inquisitive, and always ready to learn and participate.
As a former ELL public school student, I can relate to the struggles that my students face every day. I can also appreciate how much these materials mean to their learning process.
My Project
My students are avid readers in their own reading levels. They have always enjoyed reading time and reading assignments when they were at school.
Unfortunately, due to the closure of the school, my students do not have access to the books they love.
As long as the school remains close, I will be putting together learning packets for my students. These packets will contain the books listed in this project as well as other necessary supplies that my students will need. These new books will help my students significantly in their reading success.
