This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students from Santa Ana are brilliant, curious, excited, eager, and most of all kind. As a new teacher I aim to create an environment where learning is fun and enjoyable for all.

My students are 2nd grade dual language learners.

Many come from low income households, but are always eager to learn and ready for a challenge. All my students are becoming bilateral and bi-cultural citizens as they learn two languages, grow their cultural knowledge, and expand their abilities.

My Project

These books will help my students advance in their reading. They will be using these books in our classroom library but will also be able to use them for their at home reading. This will be a great benefit for students who do not have books at home. This has been a struggle for myself and has also prevented my students from practicing their reading daily.

By providing books that are interesting for students, this motivates them to read more and advance in their fluency.

My students are very much into these series and hope our library can grow with these amazing books. I am also very excited and hopeful to have these books in Spanish and in English for my bilingual students.
