Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My diverse Dual Language Immersion students are from different cultural backgrounds such as Hispanics, Pacific Islanders, low income with housing and food distress which will benefit from my reading literacy corner which they do not access at home or anywhere else.
My Project
Color code seating will allow students to be easily paired and grouped for reading and instructional purposes. This will enhance learning in another language, Spanish and English, during instructional time because color helps students associate routines and words with seating in classroom procedures when learning a second language. Spanish books in the literacy couch readily available for students with an environment fit to learn a second language. My ESL students can also benefit for having ready to access books to promote biliteracy with a place they can access these resources.
