Help me give my students as a Spanish teacher math manipulatives will accommodate varying cognitive styles. Also, it is a valuable tool for individualized needs of diverse learners, including English language learners, and students with disabilities.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
How will the specific items you’re requesting make a difference in their learning?
The specific items requested have been selected to address the diverse needs and learning styles of my students while fostering deep conceptual understanding and mathematical fluency in Spanish.
By providing students with access to these manipulatives in a bilingual classroom, I am confident that their learning experiences will be enriched, leading to increased engagement, deeper understanding, and improved academic achievement in mathematics.
What are your goals for this project?
My primary goal is to enhance the quality of math instruction and promote student achievement in mathematics in Spanish. My goals for this project are:
1. Increase student engagement and motivation by incorporating visuals and hands-on manipulative activities into my lessons to create a dynamic and interactive learning environment.
2. Foster deep conceptual understanding through the use of manipulatives. I intend to help students develop a strong conceptual foundation in mathematics, enabling them to make connections between abstract concepts, real-world and language connections.
3. Support diverse learning needs by providing multiple representations and entry points for understanding mathematical concepts and promote collaborative learning.
4. Build confidence by empowering students to represent and solve mathematical problems using visuals and manipulatives to build students' confidence in their mathematical abilities and foster a growth mindset towards learning mathematics.

Each of my students have unique strengths, experiences, and different learning styles. What makes them special is their resilience, creativity, and passion for learning math in Spanish. My students demonstrate a remarkable ability to persevere and overcome adversity, embodying the spirit of resilience in their academic pursuits and passion for learning. With a genuine curiosity my students eagerly engage in learning experiences, asking questions, seeking answers, and embracing new opportunities for growth and discovery.
