This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are dual language program kids in a low income school district. These kids love reading! I have 12 students in one class who are at or above grade level and it is only week 5 of our school year!

My students can not stop reading and will soon read through ALL of the books in the classroom library we already have!

I have them for the rest of this year and the next 2 years as well!

My Project

My students love reading! They are almost obsessed with it if I am honest! They are also bilingual and I have a VERY limited Spanish library. They have been working their way through my library so quickly that I cannot keep up! They are getting better and better, however, I want to give them more books that they are interested in and are representative of them and where they come from.

Help me keep my kiddos love for reading and even expand their love for reading in different languages!

They have between 2 and half years and 6 months left with me before they move on to high school, help me foster this love for reading in English and Spanish earlier rather than later.
