Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My early childhood classroom is composed of 20 amazing Spanish/English bilingual learners. My classroom lacks many of the materials and supplies that support the artistic, social emotional, and pre-literacy development of young learners. Our school district has a high number of children living in poverty and has a diverse population of students from different backgrounds. Our school has a large number of English language learners and students who receive free or reduced-price school lunch. Please support my classroom by helping my students have access to classroom materials and supplies that will enhance their educational experiences.
My Project
My Bilingual Engineers need classroom materials that will ignite their interest in building and creativity while exploring engineering concepts. My students want to explore and make creations out of a variety of materials.
The project consist of a variety of sets that promote building, play, and exploration and will compliment our dramatic play and building learning areas.
We need a house building kit, architect fairy tale engineering kit, and Bristle Builders to build structures and houses. The fairy tale kit will be integrated with our reading class, as it focuses on building the homes of traditional tales such as the Three Little Pigs and Goldilocks and the Three Bears.
The project also includes a Community Building set that consist of blocks, vehicles, and buildings that make up a community. Additionally, my students also need a set of classic wild animal toys to include in our animal exploration area. My students will use these materials for hands on learning, exploring and building. These tools will assure our future bilingual engineers are exposed to the tools they need to be successful creative thinkers. Thank you for supporting my young engineers.
