This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach a wonderful group of bilingual students who are learning to grow both academically and personally in two languages. What I admire most about my students is their enthusiasm for hands-on learning and their pride in becoming caretakers of their environment. Whether they are labeling parts of a plant in Spanish or describing the growth process in English, my students are constantly expanding their knowledge while celebrating their bilingualism.

This project will provide child-sized metal watering cans that are perfect for their small hands; these tools will help my students take care of our classroom and school garden, giving them the responsibility of watering and nurturing the plants.

Through this project, my students will develop teamwork, responsibility, and environmental awareness, all while strengthening their language skills as they learn to name, describe, and discuss their work in both English and Spanish.

These watering cans will help my bilingual scholars experience the joy of watching something grow because of their own care and effort. Thank you for supporting our young gardeners!
