This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Hola, Como estas? This phrase is used by many and understood by most of the US population. Here at Goethe we are building bilingual readers and writers! We encourage first language communication to help students' understanding in their learning journey.

All of my students are bilingual!

This amazing gift has enabled them to understand the world around them in two different languages. They have learned through English and Spanish classes. It is quite amazing seeing kids switch from one language to another based on how they approach the material being acquired. However, I am asking for more books in Spanish. We lack Spanish titles in our library which is a disadvantage to our children in order for them to practice reading independently in Spanish. We need your HELP!

My Project

I have requested Spanish books for my students. We don't have enough in our library to support their learning in two different languages. I want my students to have more biliteracy accessibility. Therefore, there is great need to expand this library to more Spanish titles. Also, students that will be reading these books will be more comfortable writing in their native language and be able to write both in Spanish and English.

By donating to this project we are promoting bilingualism not only in the classroom but to other students in the school.

This library will not only be accessible to my class but other classes who wish to check out bilingual books. The books that I have selected are high-interest titles for students that will help them make connections and eager to read in their native language.
