This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My early childhood classroom is composed of 21 amazing Spanish/English multilingual learners. Many of my young learners have limited access to technology and educational resources at home. My students need bilingual books that will support the social emotional and pre-literacy development, while they are at home during the Covid-19 pandemic. I will be creating care packages for my students and books in this project will be part of the materials they will receive. Our school district has a high number of children living in poverty and has a diverse population of students from different backgrounds. Our school has a large number of English language learners and students who qualify for free or reduced-price school lunch. Please support my students with bilingual books that will enhance their educational experiences at home.

My Project

During this unprecedented time, I've had to find creative ways for my students to continue their educational journey at home. My young learners will be receiving care packages to help them continue exploring and learning from home. The care packages will include pre-literacy activities and school supplies, but I need books to compliment the care packages.

This distance learning project consists of a variety of Spanish/English books for my students.

Many students and families do not have access to many books. Bilingual books are also very difficult to find. Some of the books in the project include traditional folktales, First 100 words and other favorites; all in Spanish and English. This project will help my students keep learning at home. I will be providing activities to help supplement the learning with the stories they will receive. Thank you for your support!
