Help me give my students Spanish books for 4th grade! This project will fill their reading baskets with exciting books at their reading level for them to choose from in the Fall!
A class that truly represents Brooklyn, my students are from a mix of cultures. Not only that, but my families chose to enroll their children in a dual language program. They are all committed to being bilingual and bi-literate in Spanish and English (some of the speak other languages as well).
My students are enthusiastic, curious, and caring, truly delightful!
They check in with each other and treat each other with respect. Each day, they come to school ready to learn.
My Project
My beautiful bilingual 3rd graders will be moving up to 4th grade in the Fall. They will form the first 4th grade Dual Language class in our school and I am SO proud of the amazing progress they have made -- in both English and Spanish. Last week, I went up to their 4th grade classroom and there was not a single book in Spanish. Our office manager is looking for money, but our budget has been slashed this year and we are expecting more cuts in the Fall.
Please help us fill our Spanish library with books, so we can fill our bilingual brains with knowledge.
These books will help ensure that, in the Fall, when kids go to the library, there are several wonderful books at their level to read and enjoy, so they can build on all of their hard work.
