Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are happy, eager learners with inquisitive minds about their surroundings and the world. For many of them, this is their first school experience, so there is always a grand curiosity and excitement to try new things! Play is important for young children ages 4-5 especially when they're playing outdoors on the playground. Unknowingly to them, the new equipment will strengthen the physical development of their muscle system and also work on their gross motor skills learning how to use their eye hand coordination and motor planning. They will learn how to follow directions share, take turns, and most importantly have fun with friends!
However, our current outdoor equipment is a decade old and needs to be replaced to assure UTK students have the best equipment.
Our wonderful UTK students are full of energy and they are always most excited to build new friendships in school while playing. The addition of new equipment on our playground would be a great asset in building these social emotional skills as they ride with other friends and learn how to problem solve when any conflict arises. Your generous donation would help our three UTK classrooms enhance the playground equipment so outdoor exploration time is most precious and the students get the best out of that intentional play time.
