These elementary students are among the most diverse in the nation. At our school alone, there are 70+ languages and dialects spoken. They live in one of the highest crime areas and in some of the highest poverty levels with 78% of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch in an urban district.
These children are eager to learn and be 21st-century ready leaders to become lifelong learners.
These students could use a variety of materials to assist them in filling the learning gaps of our lowest Title I learners and English Language students along with opportunities to challenge our Gifted and Talented students.
My Project
These big books will boost interest in student learning with a more kinesthetic and whole class way to do read-aloud, partner reads, and independent reading.
Students will discover concepts in storytelling and science and math as part of these big books in the classroom.
These titles like Stellaluna and The Tree Bears are familiar and exciting for students to become avid readers independently and for reading aloud. Please support our classroom boost interest in reading with these big books through storytelling for an inspiration to create their own books.
