Big Kids Need Small Group Instruction, Too

My Project

My fourth graders love to learn in a small group setting. Math and reading fundamental skills are so important in helping students succeed in their schooling careers. My students absolutely love the time we spend learning in a small group setting.

This is because they feel seen, I am able to give them more individualized attention, and teach to the level they are at.

They all feel that they can individually succeed during this time, which is so important to me, and why this time is my favorite part of the school day. I really need to upgrade to a horseshoe table, so that there is room for all of my small groups. Currently, I am using an l shaped desk I bought for myself, but with my students being growing fourth graders, it is often not big enough. Students are squished together and do not have the room I would like them to have to work out problems. I really believe that big kids need small group instruction, too, and would love to give my “big kids” a bigger area to learn at their level in a small group setting. I also have more students on my class list for next year than I currently have, so this table would be a huge help in making sure I set them up to succeed.
