Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I love my students’ resilience, curiosity, and eagerness to learn. Many of my students with special needs face challenges, but they thrive when given hands-on, interactive activities that make learning engaging and accessible.
The resources I’m requesting, such as reading manipulatives (like magnetic letters and sight word flashcards) and math tools (like base ten blocks and fraction circles), will provide the support they need to succeed.
These tools make abstract concepts more concrete, allowing my students to engage their senses and learn in ways that work best for them.
For example, reading manipulatives will help struggling readers decode words, build sentences, and improve comprehension, while math manipulatives will help students grasp foundational concepts like place value, addition, and fractions. During small group sessions, these tools will create an interactive environment where students feel confident exploring and practicing new skills.
My goal is to empower my students by giving them the tools to build confidence, develop foundational reading and math skills, and foster a lifelong love for learning. Small group instruction is where my students shine, and these resources will help make those moments even more impactful.
What makes my students special is their determination and unique learning styles. They inspire me daily with their ability to overcome challenges and their excitement when they achieve new milestones.
