My Project

In Fall and Spring, I love to take my students on nature walks. We visit nearby parks and forests. We observe birds and learn to identify them by their call. We learn about native trees and identify them by their leaves and bark. My students love these excursions and so do I. Living in Wisconsin, the winters put a bit of a halt on our outdoor experiences. We usually get tons of snow and it is difficult to walk in the woods unless someone else has blazed a path.

Well, we want to be our own trail blazers!

We want to create our paths in the woods and in the fields that surround our small town. We want to visit the trees that we saw in the Fall, and see how they look different this time of year. We want to explore and find the few bird species who brave our winter weather. We also want to observe the beauty of nature in the middle of winter. Thank you for your consideration!
