Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

First graders are special because they are always excited to learn, curious about the world, and caring toward one another. Our classroom materials received so much love from them last year that they need updating!

The incoming 1st graders deserve a welcoming classroom environment with all the essential materials for a successful school year.

The organizational bins and materials will be used to create shared material bins for each table so students can access their supplies independently. They will also help keep the classroom organized throughout the year. First graders enjoy working as a team to keep their classroom organized, and these new materials will help them in that pursuit!

Other materials will be used to update and clean our peace corner, an essential component of SEL in our classroom. My students appreciate having a peace corner to utilize when they want to regulate their emotions, and the sensory mats will upgrade our peace corner to include more sensory tools.

Other items are essential parts of our daily routines, such as the calendar and schedule posters used daily by students. The magnetic, lined paper is also used daily for dictation and writing routines. With these materials, students will have more visual scaffolds in our classroom!
