This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Science is a hot topic in my classroom and students jump at the chance to do experiments or question the world around them. Even when remote, they joined in for various STEM projects and uploaded several videos of their creations. It's fairly clear that they have no problem investigating their world, even if it means getting down and dirty in the process.

My Project

"I want only to learn science by taking notes, reading articles, and watching videos!" ~ said no student ever. This encompasses the feelings of students and myself when it comes to our current accessibility to lab equipment. We want to engage in awesome experiments and truly let out our mad scientists within.

We learn best by being hands-on and that's just what we want to do.

Even with some students remaining remote, my students learn best by being involved in whatever we are learning -- even if I am the main character completing the experiment. Being interactive in person and remote is imperative to promoting science literacy among students. By helping us slowly build our science lab equipment, you are contributing to science education students will remember for years to come.
