Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Special Education students research various colleges, careers and trade schools. This is a requirement for their individualize educational plan and helps with creating a plan to help the student succeed beyond High School. Students who have Autism, love the Ipad applications, due to the application being easier for them to navigate. All sensory toys and bean bag, will be used for cooling down students when they become overstimulated. With the new headphones, students who are text-to-speech, nonverbal and bilingual will be able to use this accommodation to help them with class assignments, audio books and testing. Lysol wipes, sharpie markers and microfiber erasers will help with organization and sanitizing the classroom environment. Dry erase boards and pockets, will be used for small groups and alternative teaching.
My goal for this project is to accommodate and bring more college & career resources to the special education students here on campus.
By doing so, we can expand knowledge and opportunities to the learning environment.
My students are special because they are unique and deserve endless opportunities. My students are leaders on our campus and in the community. Beyond My Disabilities is a project to help prepare special education students for their future and countless endeavors.
