This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
I'm asking for books about different cultures to add to our classroom library and make it more diverse. My goal is to help my students learn about people from all around the world. What makes my students special is that they come from many different backgrounds, and they're all eager to learn. I love how curious and kind they are.
Each book I'm requesting will help my students learn more about the world and each other. They'll get to read stories about people who might be different from them, and that's important. These books will show them that even though we might come from different places, we're all connected in some way.
I hope that by adding these books to our library, my classroom will become a better place for everyone to learn and understand each other. I want my students to feel like they belong and that their experiences and cultures are valued. These books will help us have important conversations about diversity and acceptance. I believe that by learning about different cultures, my students will become more open-minded and empathetic towards others. And that's something I'm excited about!
