My students need four bean bag chairs to add to our unique, alternative seating classroom!
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Luke's classroom raised $534

My Students
I have 27 energetic students who appreciate their right of CHOICE! Everyday my students choose their learning area for the day. They choose between floor desks, yoga balls, donut cushions, outside mats, and stability discs.
Their favorite is the bean bag, only problem is, we only have one!
Everyone gets the chance to sit on it; however, students only get it once every 27 days! They have been asking and asking for more bean bags. But these aren't the cheapest seating alternative so we need some help!
My Project
Thanks to Donorschoose.org this is the first year implementing flexible seating in my classroom. We have many seats to choose from; yoga balls, discs, folding desks, pillows, stadium chairs, and floor desks! My students LOVE our classroom. I also had a friend donate a 3 ft bean bag chair, and it is my students favorite! But there is only one. They keep telling me they want more bean bag chairs because they have to wait so long for their turn.
Students can better collaborate!
Every type of seating has three to four. Which means at stadium chairs there are three people in that group, donut pillows has four people, etc. However, the bean bag is the only seat that has only one. Most times, that person has to move and join another group. It would be great to have four bean bags so more students could work together and collaborate.
Also, more bean bags means less problems! Somedays students miss their day of being on the bean bag and we can't change it because it throws off the rotation. My students thought if we had at least four bean bags, then we could chose our seats by week and not by day. That way, if you are absent you still have the rest of the week to be on the bean bags.
