I have researched flexible seating a lot! Research shows students are able to focus and do their best work when they are comfortable. Flexible seating allows students the freedom to chose where they feel they focus best! It also allows space for more collaborative conversations, and students won't be so "wiggly" as they are when restrained at a desk. My students this year are a one-of-a-kind bunch! They are so energetic! They love to learn and are brilliant! However, I noticed they are so restless in their chairs, and this causes them to lose focus and make bad decisions. We need cushions, bean bag chairs, standing desks, and yoga balls. Let's admit it! If you were sitting in a chair two sizes too small, I'm sure you wouldn't be able to sit through a full work day.
