This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Last school year and this school year I've had to say goodbye to my students in person for a few weeks because of quarantine. This has been a comfortable place I have been able to provide my students. but, we have to continue learning through remote learning some weeks.
The fact that we would be forced to talk and learn through a computer screen is difficult.
Even though we can see each other through video chats, it isn’t the same. There are no high fives in celebration of a job well done or comforting hugs to brighten sad faces. Instead we are forced to look at one another through a cold, emotionless computer screen.
My Project
Oh wow! We would love to have ink and paper as a tool to enhance learning, motivation, productivity, health, and success in our classroom. I have a variety of learners including students with emotional needs, behavioral challenges, ADHD, learning disabilities, and English language learners. The ink and paper could help serve as a tool to reach and motivate my diverse learners. I would be able to use ink and paper so the students can create challenge during math sprint challenges especially for students who need the extra push. The race against the clock can be very motivating for a reluctant student and students who like to challenge themselves. The ink and paper would be beneficial for students to use after physical education activities to monitor their heart rates before and after activities.
In addition to that I want to create and motivate my students to create a school wide program were they create banners, posters, books, on how to stay healthy, and keep a good hygiene.
I will be able to do this with they use of ink and paper. My students will empower themselves and their classmates and families. We are going to focus on emotional health, healthy relationships, life-styles and their futures, what bullying means and how to care and have sympathy for others. My students will become empowered and lead the activities and will address important topic such bullying & cyberbullying. In addition something very important is health smart guidelines for healthy eating. Please help my students get the materials they need in order to share and advocate to eat a variety of food in healthy amounts, eat a variety of whole-grain foods daily. Eating less sugar, fat and salt. Physical activity, tracking progress of healthy habits.
