This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
It has been 6 months since I have last seen my students. Back in March they were ripped away from me without even a goodbye. Here in NYC we are preparing daily for the return of in-person learning for my 5th graders.
We want to help set up that organization for our students to succeed!
They have been without books for so long, a beautiful new room in a brand new building NEEDS an inviting library. The students are eager to learn and dive into reading.
Most of my students are English as second language learners. Our student body is diverse with origins from all around the world. Over half of the student body are English language learners and we are proud of our multilingual roots!
My Project
Have you ever curled up with a good book? Do you love reading? I want to create a classroom environment where children grow their love of reading this year. It has been so long since my students have had authentic resources, I want to make their environment as inviting as possible.
With the help of Lakeshore Heavy Duty Book Bins, I will be able to organize and display the books so the children can choose the book they want to read.
These materials will allow for a beautiful display of books that are so inviting anyone would want to choose books to read!
