Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
For nearly fifteen years, I have had the pleasure of teaching sixth grade English language arts to children who live in a small urban district outside of Atlantic City, NJ.
Each year, I look forward to meeting a new group of talented artists, athletes, and authors, to name just a few.
Our sixth grade English language arts classes consist of a diverse group of individuals with equally diverse learning styles and needs. As a result, much of our instructional focus in recent years has shifted toward learning center integration, and this is one adjustment that students are eager to make!
My Project
There is great emphasis on differentiated instruction and learning centers in education. Unfortunately for my students, seating options in our classroom are extremely limited, forcing students to drag chairs with them as they move from one station to the next.
Please help to provide all of my students with "the best seat in the house!" Rather than carry their chairs with them like turtles, these students will be able to move to a technology center with chairs already in place, or join me for small group instruction comfortably.
This would save us all so much time and inconvenience, and place full emphasis back where it belongs, on learning.
