Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Next school year, I will be providing support to ESE Student s in sixth-grade mathematics aligned to Florida standards, including topics such as ratios and proportional relationships, geometry, and data analysis. While I have a wealth of experience and a strong passion for teaching, my students will benefit enormously from hands-on manipulatives, interactive technology, and engaging game-based activities that bring abstract concepts to life.

With your support, I hope to provide:

• Math Manipulative Kits: Fraction tiles, ratio tables, geometric shape sets, and algebra tiles to deepen conceptual understanding.

• Interactive Learning Tools: Classroom sets of mini-whiteboards, dry-erase markers, and document camera accessories, enabling every student to demonstrate their thinking and learn from one another.

• Game-Based Learning Resources: Math escape room kits and outdoor math challenge materials to build teamwork, critical thinking, and a growth mindset.

Why This Matters?

My new county is rich in diversity—many of my students come from homes where resources are limited, and they crave engaging, tactile tools that make math tangible. Studies show that students who interact with manipulatives and collaborative games develop stronger number sense, problem-solving skills, and confidence. By funding this project, you will directly empower 100 sixth graders to:

• Visualize and internalize complex concepts (fractions, ratios, geometry)

• Collaborate effectively and communicate their reasoning

• Build resilience through hands-on challenges and celebrate each milestone.
