My Project

I have created a peer mentoring program with 6th grade students who want to interact and play with our Autism Support Classroom. My mentors meet each week and encourage interaction and social skill building.

Having supplies that promote cooperation and social skills is vital to our program, and the games in this project will help us encourage this type of play.

The games provided in this project will be used to encourage social interaction and the skills of winning and losing along with being a good sport into our peer mentoring program.

The games were specifically chosen, for example, Clue, and Monopoly will encourage problem-solving. Whereas, Candyland, Battleship, and Uno will gently introduce turn-taking.

Our groups meet all year long, so these supplies will be used and loved over and over each year. So many special education students, as well as general education students, will benefit from these supplies!
