This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a counselor working in a Title I school, the need for additional resources to benefit the emotional well-being of the community is a priority.

"When students feel safe and supported, they are truly ready and able to learn"—Laura Weaver and Mark Wilding.

As students come to my office to talk or need something, I want them to feel comfortable. The storage ottoman will serve as storage and seating for my students. I will use the bench to store items like a change of clothes and other items that will benefit my students.

It is important to me to be able to offer my students a different type of seating offered in their classrooms. The bench will provide them the opportunity to relax as they discuss hard topics with me about how their day is going.
