Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our school is a continuation high school. The kids who come here are underdogs at the get go. At risk of not graduating. Then they become Bulldogs and are part of the family that nurtures them toward graduation. Sadly, this entails unravelling a lot of trauma including educational trauma. Some kids are providers for their families, most have their own emotional needs that have been unmet. We currently have 70 students who are identified as homeless. We are a Title I school. But gladly, 92% feel connected to staff at at our school and feel we care. Our motto is You matter... and our kids and everyone who walks on campus feels it.

This amazing gift of snacks will be for my office where it is wellness room and resource center for kids whenever they need it.

These amazing Bulldogs thank you !!
