This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

A good story is a very valuable thing. I can transport you to a new place and teach you along the way. The more a person identifies with the main character, the more powerful the story. Over 77% of my students are persons of color.

This collection of books has a heavy emphasis on multi-cultural characters and the social skills we practice together.

Pairing main characters that look like them and stories that instruct and entertain is a powerful tool for meaningful growth. Each of these stories are carefully chosen to align with the most important social emotional skills.
