My students need materials and books in class to complete our social and emotional goals of the district. These skills are life-long and have an amazingly positive impact.

My Students

We have around 400 students. Many who are open enrolled (around 13%) who choose to come to our school because of it’s wonderful reputation. 46% of the student population is economically disadvantaged, almost 23% of the population are students with disabilities and about 8% of students have limited English proficiency. However, our students are amazing, wonderful and inspiring people, they show huge growth in subject areas. Their hard work and determination has helped our school to earn an amazing 5-star rating on the state report card.

My Project

I am wishing to provide my students with character development books and other resources to enhance their character. I would like to add more resources that focus on life skills and mental health.

Students need to see how important empathy, kindness, problem-solving and emotions are, in real-life situations.

Children are the key component to our future and giving them the tools to succeed is essential to their development.

Some of the themes that will help with social-emotional development are character building, respect, honesty, empathy, and kindness. Children today need these skills in order to cope with life's stressful and ever-changing situations.
