Being Good Little Humans

Help me give my students tools to identify and learn to self-regulate big emotions.

My Project

I am working with my kindergarten class on identifying and learning how to handle the big emotions they are feeling. My class loves Elephant & Piggie books by Mo Willems, and we are doing an author study on him. I will use the Mo Willems books to teach the class about the author, kindness, being a good friend, sharing, and the beginning, middle, and end of each book. I will use the reward jar for my class to encourage kindness and good manners. I will use the calming corner to help students learn ways to calm down and express their feelings when they are upset. The stuffed animals will be used as reading buddies while the students are reading the books, and to act out and retell the story after we read it. I also wanted to give each student their own copy of A Little SPOT of Kindness book for their home library. It has great family discussion topics and activities in the back of the book. Please help me teach my class to be the best good little humans they can be.
