This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Help me give our students who are trying their best to level up their reading skills. My students are simply put-struggling readers and reading way below their grade level. It is imperative that they catch up as quickly as possible so that they don't lose their building blocks for the rest of their educational career. Reading is such an integral part of a child's motivation towards the rest of their school years.

My school is one of the lowest performing schools in the district. Our classrooms are void of the basic necessary materials. Many of the students' reading skills go back to kindergarten. Coupled with the fact that they are academically deficient is the fact that many of them experience extreme poverty, hunger, drug environment, parent incarcerations and much more.
My students are full of energy and exhibit a great zeal for learning and understanding math, and to succeed.

These books will continue to enhance the print-rich classroom that I strive to create.
Our classroom library is a place that students should enjoy.With these new books, my students will be able to choose from a variety of books that will allow them to read independently at their own grade level.
They will also be able to choose books that interest them. The best way to increase reading ability is to read more, and these books will continue to help my students grow stronger in reading. My students already have shown an astonishing interest in independent reading, and this project will only help enrich their experiences with the printed word.
