My Project
After the fall break, my class is going to start earning stars for behavior bucks. My students will earn classroom stars for positive choices, good behavior, and showing effort. These classroom stars translate into a currency that they can use to purchase different items. Some of the purchases are intangible like being first in line or choosing a book to read to the class. This list includes the tangible items on which the students will spend their tickets.
Financial literacy must be taught in school.
Financial literacy begins small in elementary school by showing that their wise choices earn them a currency that can be traded for things that they want and need. My students will benefit by practicing these skills with our classroom currency.
