My Project

Our students are active and resilient second graders learning in an integrated co-taught classroom. Each year, our students come to us with a wide range of strengths, interests, and needs. What they all share is a strong sense of curiosity and a genuine desire to learn and grow.

In our classroom, we focus on academic development as well as building essential executive function skills, such as organization and self-regulation.

These skills help our students become more independent, confident learners both in and out of the classroom.

The materials that I am requesting are focused on keeping us all organized. I am asking for seat sacks to help students keep their materials organized. Having a place for their school tools will teach students responsibility and minimize transitions, saving us valuable time. I am also asking for pencils and toothbrush holders. Each student will keep five pencils-one for each day of the week, in the holder. This will help them be more responsible for the tools they use.

Our classroom is small, and learning is an active and sometimes loud experience. The privacy folders will help students focus on their work. The Teachers Pay Teachers gift cards will help me buy materials to help me differentiate the general education curriculum, as well as help me create math and ELA centers to meet all of my students' needs. The voice recording buttons will help me to record directions so that students can replay them when they need a reminder or to clarify instructions. The report covers and lamination will help me to create task cards for small groups and center work. Finally, the magnetic file folder holders will help with classroom organization.
