This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Since this is my first year teaching, I hope to provide supplemental materials for my kindergarteners that our school is unable to provide. Our school is made up of various cultures, languages and socio-economic backgrounds with various levels of learning.

No matter the backgrounds we come from, I would like to create a positive and enriching learning environment that allows students to have equal access to materials in our classroom.

The magnetic white boards would allow my kindergarteners to enhance their fine motor skills by practicing hand control and movement that is crucial for hand writing development. They also provide hands-on interactive learning using magnetic objects such as shapes, letters, and numbers.

With the colored printer I will be able to publish and create student projects that would allow for building their imagination and creativity. This will help them become confident learners and to live life in color!

There is a need of headphones in a kindergarten class. They allow for personalized instruction when using supplemental lessons on an iPad. They also promote independent learning and create a focused environment.

The cushions are for alternative seating that will allow student engagement and to foster a collaboration to strengthen our classroom community.
