Help! I'm a newer teacher on a new grade level with very few supplies!
I have a small class of half general ed students and half special ed students.
My students ability levels vary greatly. This is one of many reason why small group work is essential in my classroom. I need centers that the students can work at independently when not with a teacher that are still a benefit to their education.
My Project
I am requesting independent work centers for my mid-level students that work on phonemic awareness and help them learn their letters and the sounds that they make. These students want to learn but are easily distracted. I am looking for hands on interactive materials they will be able to use and love. My students will use these centers to learn the concepts of words. They will begin to build and spell words on their own as well as classify them. These centers will allow for my beginning readers to read and comprehend the words they are reading in books with more confidence.
It is essential to the dynamics of my classroom that the students learn how to work independently while I am meeting with small groups.
Due to the wide range of skill levels in my room I would need large quantities of centers at all levels. My goal is to have them not only working indecently, but also working on the most beneficial centers for their level.
