My Project
One of my goals as a teacher is to provide materials for my students who are directly involved in my classroom, as well as have materials for the constant visitors who come in with friends during our advisory or at lunch. This project is, in fact, just a random list.
Several of our science labs are "manipulatives" where students fill in cell organelles into cell templates.
With a few extra Biology sections at my school, we need to create a few more lab sets. That will require ink to print out the color version of the organelles and then laminating them, which would allow multiple uses.
In the past, I have always had a collection of water bottles for thirsty students, or needy students, but as a Biology teacher, I need to model conservation, and buying and discarding water bottles isn't very wise. Luckily, our school has recently installed filtered water stations, so instead of purchasing a one-time use bottle, I want to have some reusable and refillable bottles to give some of my needier students. So, hydration and conservation in one.
