My Project

I teach third grade and I love to show my students how exciting reading can be! I have the pleasure of knowing a local author. She has started a children's series that now has 6 books published!

Each year I love to give my students the first book in the series and together we immerse ourselves in the magical land and learn about Molly.

Once we finish the story, we invite in the local author to meet the students. The students get so excited to meet her and discover the world of writing.

This has been one of my favorite activities each year and the students love it! I find that when I start my school year with this activity, they are thrilled to read and write their own narratives all year!
