I teach kindergarten in a small rural public school serving 250 students. It is so much fun to teach kindergarten. I love seeing all their smiling faces every morning! My students are all excited to learn new things. Many of our skills can be taught through dramatic play. My students deserve the very best and I want to make learning a joy for them.
Kindergarten is the first exposure to full-time school for lots of my students and making learning fun, engaging and comfortable is very important to me.
It is never too early to learn about financial literacy! My students are kindergartners beginning to grasp early math concepts such as more versus less, counting, addition, and number recognition. These are the basic skills they need to master in order to expand their knowledge in financial literacy.
The materials in this project will enhance my students’ math skills through highly engaging and interactive activities.
The play market, cash register and market kit will allow my students to play with money, purchasing items in exchange for set amount of dollars and coins.
While learning these math concepts, I will be able to teach my students about saving and spending, how money is used to make purchases, and making good choices based on needs and wants.
Thank you for your help and contribution to ensure my students a bright financial future!
