Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

In many urban communities, students are not supplied with the same tools and materials found in more affluent areas. My students are growing to be lifelong learners, and they are in need of resources to help them develop and strengthen their fluency levels.

My students are dedicated to their development as lifelong learners.

At our school, our students have learned that they have the power to "write the future" and they do so throughout all subject content areas. My students are growing as readers and need to build their fluency to access the written material across all content areas. They commit themselves to taking accountability for their education and work diligently each day to become stronger readers. They are not just learning how to read but how to choose books they love and how to use what they learn from authors to reinvent their own written work. They are in need of tools that will aid them in practicing reading and help them become successful readers and writers.

My Project

The chapter books I have requested will provide my students with reading materials that challenge and engage them, exercising literacy, comprehension, and creative thinking. My students will be able to each borrow their own book to read and complete assignments in and out of the classroom, returning them to borrow a new book and grow with each story. The wide selection will allow an exploration of different themes and writing styles, allowing many opportunities to be inspired and pursue a love of reading. Your generous donations to our project will influence the lives of my students. With your support and contribution, my students will be able to manage their own learning. They will begin to successfully and confidently navigate the rigorous curriculum. They will be able to focus on understanding content and concepts rather than the laborious action of decoding text.

These chapter books are resources to help develop my students' literacy levels and creative thinking.

A variety of engaging and educational chapter books will be a huge asset to my class in allowing many opportunities to inspire each of my students.
