Help me give my students books that they can read all by themselves!
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Drew's classroom raised $367

My Students
This year I am teaching a self-contained second-grade class. That means all of the students in this classroom have special needs. Each child is unique in their way, learns at their own pace, and brings something special to the table.
All of the students are so excited to have returned to school and be united with friends, teachers, and learning!
We're working hard to enter back into a routine and to grow our brains as much as possible!
My Project
My students are starting to enter the world of reading and sometimes it can be overwhelming. Often my students say things such as "I can't read" or "I don't know how to read". What they don't realize is how much they already know how to do!
Part of the challenge with reading is the stories in my classroom library are not suited to their reading level causing feelings of insecurity.
I want my students to have texts that they feel like they can read all by themselves and build confidence so that they are proud of how much they already know!
These books in the kits you will provide to my classroom will be readers that are geared toward emerging level readers (levels A - E). This will serve as an appropriate level resource for students to have exposure to texts that are just right for them.
